AI Visibility for Shopify Brands: Why Prompt Selection Is the Decision That Makes or Breaks Your Tracking

Every brand tracking its presence in ChatGPT, Perplexity, or AI Overviews eventually asks the same question: are we actually visible, or are we just visible for the prompts we happened to pick? Most of the time, the honest answer is the second one and nobody notices, because the dashboard still shows green. We've watched this play out with more than one Shopify brand we've worked with on AISEO. The team runs a handful of test prompts, sees the brand name show up in the response, and reports "strong AI visibility" up the chain. What they're actually measuring is whether the model recognizes the brand when asked about it directly which is closer to a spell-check than a visibility audit. The branded-query trap If your test prompt is "tell me about [your brand]," you will almost always get a good answer. The model has your name, it has whatever's been written about you, and it has no reason to withhold that information. This tells you the model has heard...

Focus More On Creative That Will Sell And Less On Creative That Is Clever

Every ad account has at least one piece of creative that everyone on the team loves. It's the one with the sharp line, the unexpected visual, the joke that lands in the internal Slack thread. It's also, more often than not, the one quietly underperforming the plain product shot sitting three placements below it. Clever and effective aren't opposites, but they're not the same thing either, and Shopify brands lose more budget to that confusion than to almost anything else in the creative process. A concept that makes a room of marketers nod is optimized for a room of marketers. A concept that makes a stranger scrolling at 8pm stop, understand, and tap "shop now" is optimized for something else entirely. Why Clever Wins the Room and Loses the Feed Cleverness asks something of the viewer. It asks them to notice the twist, connect the reference, appreciate the restraint of what wasn't said outright. That's a fine thing to ask of someone who's al...

The Shopify Speed Metric Everyone Optimizes and the One Nobody Does

Every Shopify audit starts the same way: run the store through a speed test, look at the load time, chase the score up. It's become the default definition of "fast." Page-load speed measures the wrong moment Page-load speed tells you how long it takes for a page to appear. It doesn't tell you how long it takes for a customer to actually do something on that page click add-to-cart, select a variant, get through checkout. A store can post a strong Lighthouse score and still lose the customer at the exact moment that matters, because the page finished loading well before it finished being usable. The metric that predicts revenue: time-to-first-meaningful-interaction This is the gap between "the page is visible" and "the page responds to the first real action" selecting a size, opening a variant dropdown, tapping into a checkout field. On a lot of Shopify stores, this gap is invisible in a standard speed report because the visual page has already...

Category Pages Don't Fail AI Search the Way Product Pages Do

Most AEO advice for Shopify merchants gets written for product pages structure the specs, answer the sizing questions, make the reviews extractable. Category pages get treated as an afterthought, usually handed the same fixes and hoped into shape. That's the mistake. A category page fails an AI agent for a completely different reason than a product page does, and the fix that rescues one does almost nothing for the other. A product page fails by omission When a product page underperforms in AI search, it's usually missing something concrete. The material composition isn't stated. The return window for that specific item isn't spelled out. The sizing guidance is vague. The fix is additive: identify the missing claim, write it clearly, make it extractable on its own. A product page is, at its core, one entity a single thing the agent is trying to build a complete, citable profile of. Fill the gaps, and the page starts working. A category page fails by structure, no...

Your Shopify Bundle Page Is Three Products Wearing One Answer

Bundles are built for one job: get someone to buy three products in a single click instead of three separate decisions. One hero image, one price, one add-to-cart button, one description that talks about the set as a whole "everything you need for dry skin," "the complete routine." That framing works well on a human shopper who's already decided to browse and just needs a nudge to convert. It works badly on an AI agent trying to answer a question. What an AI agent is actually doing with your bundle page An AI agent isn't browsing. It's resolving a query something like "a gentle skincare set for dry skin that includes a fragrance-free cleanser." To answer that, it needs facts about the individual products inside the bundle: what's in the cleanser, why the moisturizer suits dry skin specifically, what the serum is doing that the other two aren't. If the bundle page only ever describes the set as a single blob "perfect for d...

We Asked ChatGPT to Rank Indian Jewellery Brands. Our Client Showed Up.

There's a difference between telling a brand its AEO is working and having a large language model prove it unprompted, in a context that has nothing to do with a pitch deck. We ran that test ourselves recently. We asked ChatGPT the same question ten different ways "What's the best Indian jewellery brand?" and tallied every response to see which names came up most often. The result was a ranked list of the ten most-mentioned Indian jewellery brands, built from repeated model outputs rather than a single lucky answer. Tanishq, Kalyan Jewellers, Malabar Gold & Diamonds, CaratLane, PNG Jewellers, Joyalukkas, Senco Gold & Diamonds, and Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri heritage names, most of them decades old, several with hundreds of stores nationwide. And in that list: Lucira Jewelry, a brand whose AISEO we handled at NOIR & BLANCO   We're not neutral observers here, so it's worth being upfront about that. We didn't run this test to find Lucira on...
